When is my final paycheck due in Illinois?

Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the Illinois deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.

Only matters in states where the deadline is "the next payday".

How this is calculated

The deadline is the statutory maximum in Illinois: Final compensation is due at the time of separation if possible; if it is not possible to calculate it then, it is due no later than the next regularly scheduled payday (820 ILCS 115/5). Same rule on resignation: final compensation at separation if possible, otherwise by the next regularly scheduled payday. The penalty estimate uses 820 ILCS 115/14(a): damages of 5% of the underpayment per month it stays unpaid (2% per month where the underpayment is $200 or less), capped at 100%, plus a court-awarded attorney's fee and costs.

This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
