Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the Kansas deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.
The deadline is the statutory maximum in Kansas: When an employer discharges an employee, earned wages must be paid not later than the next regular payday (Kan. Stat. § 44-315(a)). If you quit or resign, earned wages are due not later than the next regular payday. The penalty estimate uses Kan. Stat. § 44-315(b): where the failure to pay is wilful, the employer is liable for the wages plus a penalty of 1% of the unpaid wages for each day, excluding Sundays and legal holidays, that the failure continues after the eighth day.
This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
