When is my final paycheck due in Michigan?

Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the Michigan deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.

Only matters in states where the deadline is "the next payday".

How this is calculated

The deadline is the statutory maximum in Michigan: An employee who is discharged must be paid all wages earned and due at the time of discharge (MCL 408.475). Michigan does not add a separate waiting period. An employee who leaves voluntarily must be paid all wages earned and due as soon as the amount can with due diligence be determined — in practice the next regular payday (MCL 408.475). The penalty estimate uses Michigan's Payment of Wages and Fringe Benefits Act provides no liquidated damages and no waiting-time penalty. This is the state where third-party summary sites most often invent one: the statute simply requires payment, and the remedy is a claim for the wages plus costs.

This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
