Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the New York deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.
The deadline is the statutory maximum in New York: Final wages are due no later than the regular payday on which they would have been paid had you stayed employed (Labor Law § 191). New York does not require the employer to pay on the day of discharge. The same rule applies when you resign: final wages are due on the next regular payday. On request the employer must mail the final pay. The penalty estimate uses Labor Law § 198: a worker who wins may recover the unpaid wages plus liquidated damages of 100% of the unpaid amount, with interest and attorney's fees. In practice that doubles the exposure on the wage figure alone.
This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
