When is my final paycheck due in Vermont?

Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the Vermont deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.

Only matters in states where the deadline is "the next payday".

How this is calculated

The deadline is the statutory maximum in Vermont: An employee who is discharged must be paid in full within 72 hours of the discharge (21 V.S.A. § 342). An employee who leaves voluntarily is paid on the last regular pay day, or if there is no regular pay day, on the following Friday. The penalty estimate uses Vermont does not add a computable liquidated-damages formula to the wages. The remedy is the unpaid wages through the Department of Labor or small claims court, with costs where the statute allows.

This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
