Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the Wisconsin deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.
The deadline is the statutory maximum in Wisconsin: A discharged employee must be paid in full no later than the date the employee would regularly have been paid under the employer's established payroll schedule (Wis. Stat. § 109.03(1)). An employee who quits must be paid in full by the next date on which the employee would regularly have been paid under the payroll schedule. The penalty estimate uses Wis. Stat. § 109.11: in addition to the wages due, the department or a court may award increased wages of up to 50% of the amount owed unless the employer shows extreme hardship.
This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
