Enter your last day and how the job ended. The calculator applies the Ohio deadline, tells you how many days late the payment is, and estimates the possible late-pay penalty. It runs in your browser — nothing is sent to us.
The deadline is the statutory maximum in Ohio: Ohio sets no separate deadline for a discharge. Wages must be paid on the employer's regularly scheduled payday, and most employers must pay at least twice a month (Ohio Rev. Code § 4113.15(A)) — so the final check is due on the next regular payday. Same rule on resignation: the final wages are due on the next regularly scheduled payday, not on the day you leave. The penalty estimate uses Ohio Rev. Code § 4113.15(B): if wages stay unpaid for 30 days beyond the regularly scheduled payday, the employer is liable for liquidated damages equal to 6% of the amount still unpaid or $200, whichever is greater — but only for amounts not in good-faith dispute.
This is an estimate, not a legal determination. Penalty provisions usually depend on the employer acting wilfully, and a court or agency decides the final number. Use the result to decide whether to send a demand, not as a promise of what you will collect.
